The difficulties of being a woman in the workplace during a pandemic

According to a study from McKinsey and Sheryl Sandberg’s LeanIn.org, a quarter of working women are considering scaling back their career ambitions or leaving the workforce entirely because of the stresses related to the pandemic.

This is a big deal! The Women in the Workplace report found that working mothers are 3x more likely to be handling the brunt of housework than working fathers, with the burden falling particularly on Black women. Female executives are also more likely than their male peers to feel burned out from juggling work and family obligations.

If you are a manager, and you have women in your team, make sure to check in, ask how they are feeling and how they dealing with housework.
